Need to Train

I’m always surprised by the number of people that don’t think they need to train. They get out their firearm when it’s time to hit the woods for hunting season or when they need to re-qualify for their concealed carry permit. That’s it. No more, no less.

You practice everyday when you are on a team. You practice before taking any type of test. You practice whenever you want to get better at something. But for some reason the vast majority of people don’t feel the need to train when it comes to their firearm. Why is that?

I couldn’t tell you because I train. Maybe not everyday. And sometimes it’s not every week but I make it a habit to train as often as possible and with every firearm I own.

For me it comes down to the simple fact of I may never know when I will need it and I want to be as prepared as I can be for that moment when I will need it.

There’s a great article on the Beretta Blog called 8 Reasons You Need Real Firearms Training. If you get a chance, I highly suggest reading it.

There are plenty of excuses of why you don’t train. And I guarantee you that for every one of those excuses, there is a reason why you should or a way to not make that an excuse.

Please do yourself a favor, find time to train. Find a qualified instructor, like myself, if you need help. Go to your local gun range. Asks the guys behind the counter if you have questions. Go down to your local toy store and buy an air soft or two so you can train in the comfort of your own home. Learn some dry fire drills. There are plenty of options available to you for getting better and answering questions you may have.

I’ll get of my soap box now (because it’s time for me to brush up on my skills).
